The Redwood Coast Quilt Pattern is now live in the shop!
About the Redwood Coast Quilt
I couldn't be more excited to share this pattern with you!
This is an Advanced Beginner pattern that is much easier to make than it looks. It features a classic element -- Delectable Mountains-- reimagined in a fresh, new way.
The jagged "mountains" at the top and bottom of each block are created by slicing up HSTs and sewing them back together, which hugely cuts down on the amount of work it takes to make this quilt.
This pattern is fat eighth friendly, and takes one fat eighth per block. It'll also work with fat quarters, or 1/4 yard cuts.
Get the pattern - 20% off in the shop until July 18th, 2021!
Color Your Own
I've teamed up with the lovely folks at QuiltInk to create a digital coloring page for this pattern.
Find the Redwood Coast coloring page here.
QuiltInk will give you the option of mocking up with Redwood Coast Quilt in your choice of solids. Art Gallery, Kona, Paintbrush Studios, Moda Bella Solids-- they've got it all!
If you make your own mock-up, be sure to share it on Instagram and tag me, @strawberrycreekquilts, so I can see your make.
Quilt Kits
There are five stunning quilt kits available for this pattern! Each one reimagines the Redwood Coast Quilt in a unique way. I hope these kits spark your creativity and get you excited to sew up your own Redwood Coast!
The Cover Quilt
My own sample for the Redwood Coast Quilt was made with bright and summery Art Gallery Pure Solids from Great Heron Thread Co. Justine, who runs the shop, is an absolute genius with color. She helped me pick out these bold and bright solids from her collection!
You can get the full kit, with or without background fabric, HERE.
If you're referencing this blog post long after the release, and you're wondering what AGF Pure Solids I used, here's the full color list:

Dreamy Ice Dye
Bailey of By And By not only tested this quilt for me-- she also created a beautiful ice-dyed kit just for this release!
She sewed up the Redwood Coast Quilt in a mix of ice dyed fabrics, from her own shop and Dust & Waves Textile.
Then, she hand-dyed these beautiful kits to stock in her shop!
These kits are unique, handmade, and limited quantity. If you have your eye on one, I'd grab it now! If you're referencing this post at some point in the future and kits are not available, you can purchase her ice-dyed yardage to create your quilt!
Gradient Blues
Kendra from Piece Fabric Co. created this gradient blue kit that I think is so sophisticated and elegant! She offers this kit in all sizes - Baby, Throw, and Bed. She even hacked the pattern to create a super-special table runner. If you want the kit + instructions for this special project, head over to her site!
Earthy and Natural
Charla from Treehouse Quilting Co. created these rich and earthy quilt kits! She offers Baby and Throw sizes, with and without background fabric.
The best part? She offers a AGF Pure Solids Potter’s Clay background as an option. I think it’s brilliant - click through to see!
Fog and Forest
Laura from Global Fiber used to live out here in California, and drew from her own memories of our coastal redwoods to create this beautiful quilt kit. This kit evokes lush, cool, foggy forests - perfect given the name and theme of this pattern!
