This little ornament is a scaled-down log cabin quilt block, made tiny enough to fit on your tree! I piece each miniature quilt block, sew it into an ornament, stuff it with 100% unbleached natural cotton, and hand-finish the outer seams.
Each ornament has a small fabric loop on the back, and comes tied with cotton twine for hanging. If you prefer to hang your ornament with something else, like a metal ornament hook, you can simply cut off the twine and thread your hanging tool through the fabric loop on the back. See photos of the ornament back for details.
The log cabin is a traditional quilt block, and the center square represents the hearth at the heart of the home. The rest of the cabin structure is built soundly around it. To me, the log cabin has always represented home, family, warmth, and safety. It's my personal favorite block, which is why I chose to make this year's ornaments with it!
